Notes What do you leave as a tip for some smashing sushi? how about art. this was done at Sushi Kim in pittsburgh just a stones throw from where AC is held. the sushi rocks and the atmosphere is great and the wait staff are fun. and it is affordable really it is. i swear. but yeah went with a group of locals and sat down to a smashing dinner as always there and decided since the last fortune cookie i got there said to leave gifts where i go i would take stuff to do art as part of the tip. The rest of the tip was an origami offering dish with the money made into a pyramid and held in a paper flower. :) those were courtesy Kyrellius. for his origami fu is strong. My first attempt at a fish had a much better mouth but after all the rescues to keep stuff from hitting the paper it finally had a fatal attraction to soy sauce. It was not totally lost cause Flanowa rescued it and finished it using the soy splashes as spots on the koi and added more colour to it with wasabi and miso soup. :)
and like all my art of this type it is Completely freehanded on the rice paper. the mouth is a bit screwed up but the rest of the image i love. Next time i am going to do something bigger when i am there.
