I apologise for the creepy looking doll in this picture...x.x.. that fake plastic overly large boob job is horrid! She will go back to where she came from now that I am done. x.x.... nasty nasty little doll.
The other three, my lovely little ball jointed dolls, go from my tallest, Lucian in white, at 25 inches, to nalin standing at 23inches (he is shorter then my other two SDs though..x.x) and then vahn who stands at 16.5inches. That nasty little doll doesnt stand on its own.. it is leaning on its hair and stands at a mere 11 or so inches.
I hope that helps put them in perspective for some of you at how big they are. And there are some dolls out there that are bigger.
If you do not like dolls, then too bad! I did warn you, you didnt have to look. So keep your rude remarks to your self.

I wouldnt say yes or no.. I recently cleaned my oldest BJD, who will be four years this september.
Id really have to see them, and I could suggest a few ways to clean them if they are. Im not sure when BJDs were created, so I cant say whether they are or not unless I see them.
