Even dragons age and die eventually, and among the original four the one with the longest lifespan was Jovrajoks. One by one the others passed on, leaving a legacy behind. When the last of the others- Virtillax- died Jovrajoks decided the only way to ensure he could protect the Sanctuary forever was to become a god. He'd forsaken Tiamat long ago in the initial throes of her madness, and rather than suffer sorrow unto breaking he chose to rise above and ensure none would harm his clan and home ever again.

Even after ages have passed our sun still guards our legacy.
