i once saw a youtube video passing by that featured the exact same 'claws' together with a crappy put together furry paw hence the title of the video. I cant find it after 2 searches and got bored.

They're just paper... if you cover them in paper mache they don't bend and such... paper is fun for me XD
and I can't sew or use a sewing machine to save my life so... no fursuits shall be made by moi. D:
