So, after a bit of a break, I'm coming back with another creature design. The mini-hiatus itself was brought on by me finally deciding to buy myself a copy of Monster Hunter Rise... yeah, I know it came out months ago, but I wanted to get myself something cool for my birthday back on July 1st... yay, one year older and one year closer to death... oh well, at least I got to slash up some monsters.

As for this beastie here: The Blade-tailed Verdana is a species of large, predatory lizards that inhabit dense jungles and forests around the equator. The feathery mane on its neck and back serves both as a threat-display structure (whenever a rival or predator appears, the feathers poof up, making the verdana look even bigger than it already is) as well as a type of armor (much like a lion's mane), mostly against attacks from above.
If a fight is unavoidable, the verdana then uses its bladed tail like a spiked whip to slash any potential aggressor. These slashes are comparable with hits from a buster-sword.

Then name 'verdana' is made by combining two words: "verde" (green) and "iguana"... I completely forgot that it's also a type of font, so before anyone calls me out... yeah, I goofed on that one., but whatever :B
