This is my friend Truth. I drew this for her so she'd have something to print on thank you cards.
I really like how she turned out, though looking back, I realize how hard it is to give a snake too much expression without it looking like Kaa from the jungle book. I sat with a million references of pythons with their heads at different angles and coils in different positions.. and not a single picture of a cartoon snake.. and I still end up with something resembling Kaa.. *SHAAAAME*
Oh well.. I liked The Jungle Book.. and Truth liked the pic, so it's all good. ^.^

Heee! I adore snakies! And yes, I imagine they'd scare cats quite a bit. Quite understandable. I imagine they put cats off a bit as well, as Snakes and cats seem to have a similar personality of "Worship me, for I am beautiful, and a GOD". I think cats have far more opportunities for looking 'silly' when they don't mean to. XD
Anywhoo! I'm very glad you like the pic! :D I'll undoubtedly do more.

I'm delighted to hear that. I'll be watching. I know what you mean about cats looking silly when they don't mean to: I've seen a cat running on a slippery waxed hardwood floor skid into a sofa, look over at me, see that I saw the ignominous crash, and then the cat pretends to carefully examine the sofa - while peeking over it's shoulder at me to see if I was buying it! Snakes are much more honest...
Ahaha Yes. I have a fluffy-cat thing who tries very hard to be dignified, and mostly fails miserably. The snake I had previously had a habit of attempting to climb things that were two steep and two slick, would fall repeatedly, and just kept going for it. "Right.. Up we go. Could I possibly get a lift? Why is it that the god-like creature is left to flail? Hurry it up, would you?"
Yes, much more honest about it, I think. :3

Yes, you, too, have been owned by a snake - its so much fun.
I was wondering if his specticles were inspired by the transparent eye scales that sometimes fail to shed with the remainder of the old skin and are called specticles?
My pythons have quite a thing about helping me to shed my specticles. When I'm wearing glasses, the first thing they will try to do is remove them! With great persistance!!

Wow, the snake is so beautiful! I love the glasses, underlines the massive intelligence that oozes out of that gaze, what an intense look! "Follow me, I lead to to my huge library in my castle!" would be a nice story behind it. Would love to see more pics with that snake =)
