Druug & The Trapmaker
"The cycle goes on. It is an inevitability."
-Druug
"Watch your step, pardner. There are worse things you could lose besides your legs."
-The Trapmaker
Some time ago, I started a lineup sketch of four upcoming characters, as a way to save time an effort as an alternative to putting them on separate canvases. I happened to line these two first, so here they are.
Druug is a dark headsman. He appeared out of nowhere a few years ago and had made his home in the Bastion's outskirts ever since. He spends more time in battles than executions; appearing and dematerializing as a flock of ravens while using dark hexes and his giant axe to behead armies at a time. Though he always sides with the Bastion, he claims he kills because it is his duty to uphold the natural cycle of life and death.
The Trapmaker is one of the Emperor's Revenants. A human in his past life, now he's much more. He was, and still is, a brilliant engineer and inventor with an affinity for traps, snares and sleight of hands. When he's not maintaining the Covenant's fleet of Derelicts, he builds traps of various complexities and effectiveness; punji pits, landmines, explosive chest, trapped doors to another dimension, anything goes with him. He doesn't need to physically set up his devices himself; by walking by, he rigs the area around him with his traps through anomalous means. Though his machinations are deadly, the Trapmaker himself isn't much of a threat as he lacks the bloodthirsty tendencies most other Revenants possess.

Of course, who would be able to resist the musclebound birdman gracefully gliding across the battlefield, swinging his great axe with such force that his muscles ripple and stretch as he slaughters his enemies left, right and center while clad in nothing more than fancy bracers and an endearingly tattered humble loincloth that flows as gracefully as his fluffy feathers that accompany his beautiful beak-
