The red stone in the middle wasn't a ruby, but wasn't quite not a ruby, either. It almost glowed from within, like embers in a fireplace. Jenny didn't have to be a witch to guess the item was magical in nature, but she was surprised to see such a large jewel to be reasonably priced. She reached out to carefully pick the amulet up but a jolt of static bit her outstretched fingers, eliciting a startled yelp. Her fingers felt almost burned."
