Ray is Herman's father, who died of Alzheimer's in a nursing home aged 103. Ray taught Herman all the basic necessities for survival as his mother, Samantha, was a nurse at the local animal hospital. When he learned that Samantha was originally bisexual, he didn't pay it no mind, instead choosing to accept her as she was. Him and her were married for eighty years before her passing of old age at 101.
