Wemusa is born into the Komandoo Mob, a group of meerkats that still followed the Old Ways of meerkat society. His father Hannibal considered him to be a disappointment as he didn't share his ferocious tendancies and was constantly picked on by his older and more aggressive sister, Zora. One of the few meerkats he got along with in his birth mob was his sister Kleintjie who, like him, wasn't quite as fierce as the rest of their family. Once he's old enough, Wemusa takes to roving in the hopes of spreading his genes elsewhere.
His first roving trip leads him to meeting Moza, a lone female who had recently lost her whole mob and was hoping to find a new one to join. The two of them spend the night together and Wemusa takes her back to his mob's territory the next day in the hopes that he could get some of his siblings to join them and potentially start a new mob. But on their way back to the Komandoo's territory, the pair end up running into a group of hungry jackals that had the intention of making them their next meal. Moza and Wemusa get separated while fleeing from the hungry canines and Wemusa is able to take shelter in a nearby bolt hole. The jackal eventually gives up on trying to dig out Wemusa and leaves, and when it finally feels safe enough for Wemusa to come out of hiding, Moza is nowhere to be found.
Wemusa had been deeply affected by Moza's apparent death. She had been hoping to start all over with him, and he felt as though he let her down. His parents and Zora basically tell him to get over it, while Kleintjie is more sympathetic, telling his that these things happen and that it was just part of the Circle of Life. Zora later becomes the new dominant female of the Komandoo after the sudden deaths of both their parents, after which Wemusa finally takes to roving again, this time with his older brothers Grozde and Pilipili. One mob that he frequently found himself visiting was the Udevu, which was currently being lead by a young female named Raquell. Grozde manages to mate with her at one point and she later bears two pups, but one meerkat in the Udevu that Wemusa ends up being drawn to is Raquell's niece, a subordinate named Sofia. She was very pretty, and she somehow reminded him of Moza. Wemusa frequently goes roving near the Udevu to visit her, and it's during one of those visits when he discovers that Sofia was Moza's daughter.
Sofia falls in love with Wemusa and she eventually becomes pregnant with his pups. Wemusa manages to join the Udevu sometime after they're born, after which Raquell is sadly killed during a burrow move one day. Now the oldest female left in the group, Sofia becomes the new dominant female and takes Wemusa as her mate. The two of them have many children together and lead the Udevu for many years to come. During all that time, Wemusa remains fiercely loyal to Sofia and the rest of the Udevu. He made have failed Moza, but he wasn't going to fail her family.
Eventually, Sofia's reign came to an end when she lost to her eldest daughter Ori in a mashindano. Wemusa chooses to follow her into exile, and ends up disappearing along with her.
Wemusa's design was adopted from ThulianShadow on DA with some slight tweaks by me (Original image). I decided to use him as my TLK version of the MM meerkat Wilson, who was portrayed by Drew in Season 3 and by Homestar Runner in Season 4. In real life neither meerkat became a dominant male beside Sophie/Ella and that role instead went to a Lazuli rover named Thundercat, but I decided to make Wilson her mate in my TLK/MM crossover anyway because 15-year-old me shipped the heck out of those two.
