The second piece of art I owed to  racoonhero I think overall it turned out pretty cool. It's supposed to be him as the superhero Nova. I was trying some new techniques here too. When I did the lightning, I layed down some colored pencil first and burnished it into the paper before I went over with the marker. This kept the marker from taking to the paper as strongly in those areas. I also tried some different shading techniques, combining more markers instead of just the two shades I normally use. I was also emulating the shadow/highlight pattern of the ref pic he gave me, which worked in some areas but not so well in others.
