In orions world, there's these magical stones called prisms. either mined from the earth or manufactured, they can unleash certain elements if used properly. they're the main power source, and are used in practically everything, from ovens to guns. it's even possible to have clothing laced with tiny prisms to keep someone warm in the cold.

orions messer is equipped with a slot for these prisms. when one is placed he can activate the element and alter the properties of his weapon. he has multiple kinds for this purpose, but prefers fire for it's flashy nature.
