Here is a spoke shave that I finished making today.
The whole frame is made from sassafras and the blade is made from a section of leaf spring.
To operate the tool you tap the tool deeper into the sole of the frame to take a lighter cut and to take a deeper cut you tap the tangs to push the blade out some.
This is a tool you pull towards yourself or sometimes push away. It acts about the same way as a draw knife, but it's more related to a hand plane.
