A quick, and possibly unfinished drawing.
The one in front was named Kailey. She was my aunt's dog, and she was the single most tolerant dog on the planet. When my aunt adopted her first child, Kailey never got upset, and just stepped a little to the side and helped keep an eye on her. When they tugged a little too hard on her tail, she didn't bite or growl, but instead, she got up and moved.
In all honesty, she was Cher's first baby. Have you ever seen a dog on a jet ski? I have. Before Cher became a mom, Kailey went EVERYWHERE with her.
She died last year. Nothing bad happened to her.. like.. she didn't get hit by a truck... she just got old, and felt that Cher was in good paws with her new Border Collie, Annie.
The one behind her was my dog, Chelsea.
When I was a little kid, I wasn't... exactly good with people, and she was my best friend. She also took it upon herself to be my protector. I'm not sure what her problem with men was, but whenever she felt one was too close to me, even if it was my own father, she would come up between us and stand up on her hind paws.
We don't know how old she was when we got her, but we do know she wasn't a puppy.. By the end of her life, she couldn't even go up the one step from our porch into the house by herself anymore.
Anyone who knows me knows I'm more of a cat person, and I loved both of these dogs. I still can't talk about Chelsea without tearing up a little, and she died years ago.
