Moza is Maua's second oldest daughter and serves her mother as a babysitter. She is sweet, caring, and absolutely loves pups. Caring for her younger siblings soon makes her long to have a litter of her own and she later gives birth to two pups of her own after mating with a passing rogue. This lands her into some hot water with her mother due to her breeding with a rogue without her permission, but she still allows her and her pups to stay.
When Moza's two pups were almost fully grown, her younger half-sister Kinah is forced to leave the Udevu Mob after losing to her mother in a mashindano. Not wanting her to go off alone, Moza and two other females choose to follow her into exile and the four of them start a new mob after joining three roving males. The group struggles to produce litters and a disease outbreak soon leaves Moza and Kinah as the only members left alive. After Kinah suddenly passes away in her sleep due to a lack of food Moza tries to rejoin the Udevu, only to be chased off after being mistaken for a meerkat from an enemy mob. She was left all alone.
Knowing that she'd be as good as dead without a mob to live in, Moza wanders around for over two weeks looking for a new one to join. She ends up encountering Wemusa, a young male who recently decided to give roving a try. She recalls her tragic tale to him, and after spending the night together Wemusa takes her back to his mob's territory in the hopes that he could get some of his siblings to join them and start a new mob together. But on their way back to the Komandoo's territory, the pair end up running into a group of hungry jackals that had the intention of making them their next meal. Moza and Wemusa get separated while fleeing from the hungry canines and while Wemusa is able to take shelter in a bolt hole, Moza ends up being snatched by a hawk while running for her life.
But by some miracle, the bird's talons don't immediately kill her. When she comes to, Moza freaks out and wrestles with the hawk, which results in the bird losing its grip and dropping Moza into some trees below. She manages to survive the fall, and after making her way back down to the ground Moza just collapses and sobs. Moza had no idea what she was going to do now. Nothing looked familiar to her and she knew that she was far, FAR away from any mob territory that she knew of. And Wemusa, she didn't see what happened to him while she was running from the jackals but she was almost certain that he must have been caught by them. She had wanted so badly to be part of a mob again, but she had failed miserably. Eventually, exhaustion from her ordeal completely catches up to Moza and she falls asleep.
When she wakes up again, Moza is surprisingly greeted by another meerkat. The male introduces himself as Meekon and he warns Moza that it was now evening and the nighttime predators would be coming out soon, so Moza chooses to follow him and his family into a bolt hole for the night. It turns out that Meekon and his very small mob were in a similar situation as Moza, as they had recently lost several members including the dominant female -Meekon's sister- and her mate, leaving the mob's future uncertain. Moza and Meekon form a strong bond with each other over time and later end up becoming mates, with Moza becoming the group's new matriarch as a result. Their first litter together is a pair of healthy daughters that Moza names Kiah and Del, in honor of her lost sister and niece. Moza was never able to find her way back to her old territory again but she was still happy with where she was. And she had no doubt that her eldest son and daughter, wherever they were, had grown into strong meerkats that were doing their family proud.
She and Meekon lead the mob together for many years until Moza dies peacefully from old age, after which Kiah becomes the new matriarch in her place.
EDIT: There's been a change! Moza now gets a better ending!
And here we have the lovely Mozart. She was my absolute favorite meerkat and her death in Season 3 was one of the most soul-crushing things I ever witnessed as a teenager. It broke my heart that this sweet girl didn't get a happy ending, so I decided that she would! In the Lion King universe!
Side note: while the real-life Mozart did meet an unfortunate end, she does happen to have a few descendants running around in the KMP study area today, so you can't say she didn't leave behind some sort of legacy.
