Badriyah is the oldest of her mother Maua's children and also one of her most rebellious. She often challenges her mother's authority and often goes to mate with roving males, which eventually leads to her and her sister Moza having pups without Maua's consent. Since the Udevu follow the modern ways of meerkat society, Maua doesn't evict her daughters and allows their pups to live, but she's still determined to find a way to remind her rebellious daughter who is in charge.
One day, the Udevu suffered a group split, which occasionally happens to meerkat mobs. Maua leads the smaller half of the split while her daughter Zaidi takes charge of the other, only to have dominance taken away from her by the older and stronger Badriyah. When the two halves of the group end up reuniting, Badriyah challenges her mother to a mashindano, wanting to become the next leader of the Udevu. Maua accepts her challenge, and Badriyah takes on her mother.
And loses.
Having lost the battle, Badriyah is declared the loser and is therefore ousted from the Udevu. Despite this, Badriyah couldn't accept her defeat and follows her family from a distance for a few months, hoping to challenge her mother to a rematch. But every time she encounters her family Maua makes it clear that she was no longer welcome and chases her off, telling her to go find a male to join. After months of trailing her family, Badriyah eventually gives up on rejoining the Udevu and goes to find a roving male.
Badriyah eventually comes across a group of roving male brothers lead by a reckless meerkat named Buzwe. She joins them in travelling and end up naming their newly founded group the Komboli Mob. Badriyah goes on to have several litters with Buzwe and as the years go by she becomes much more calmer and level-headed, no longer the rebellious daughter that she was in her youth. A few of her daughters challenge her for the role of leader, but Badriyah manages to hold onto her position for many years to come.
Years later when Badriyah is starting to become a bit slow due to her age, her eldest daughter Manbasa challenges her to a mashindano. Badriyah manages to hold her own for a while, but the aging female ends up being no match for her younger and stronger daughter and she loses the battle.
This time, Badriyah willingly accepts her defeat and leaves without a fuss. She is never seen again, but she leaves content knowing that she had raised a strong and capable daughter.
Another TLK/MM crossover 'Kat. This girl is intended to be Baddiel aka Tosca, a female who was prominently featured in Season 1 of Meerkat Manor. She went missing before Season 2 was filmed and at the start of that season it was mentioned that she disappeared and most likely died during the winter. When I was watching the show back when I was a teen I remember that I couldn't accept the fate that Tosca was gone (she had been one of my favorites up to that point) and spent the first half of Season 2 expecting her to miraculously come back, and then I later ended up writing a really bad Neopets fanfiction where she was reincarnated as a Xweetok with superpowers. (Yes, really.) In real life Baddiel's fate after she disappeared from the KMP study area was unknown, but given how long she managed to survive on her own it is possible that she probably managed to either join or start a new meerkat mob somewhere far away. I guess we'll never know. Shrug
Also, I decided to borrow a little bit of TLK world building from Percy-McMurphy, which can be read here. In my TLK universe, meerkats don't evict subordinates who mate with rogues and/or kill their pups like they do in real life, although there are a handful of mobs who still follow the barbaric Old Ways of meerkat society (such as my TLK version of the Commandos Mob, which I'll talk about sometime later).
