UTO - Quick Thinking
He woke up in a black void looking around for any signs of what had just happened. His mind hazely remembered falling after an something went off. Anger and annoyance fueled his pain racked mind not getting a single answer. "What the FUCK!" He yelled out into nothing. The last word repeated in an echo back to him. The man had nothing, no hope, no way out. Other voices bonced back to him. Faint voices of likely others traped here with him. He had to try, he had to try getting out once. "Hello!" He screamed out, nothing in reply. No echo greeted him or other voice. Maybe it was something out to get him or that very thing he remebered running from. Clear shots rang out within the near infinite void. The man knew that sound, it struck fear into him to hide. More noises joined inside sparking even more terror in himself. "Is anyone there!" He screamed panicing now. It echoed back and around him. Those sounds all stopped.
"Hello!" A new voice screamed out to him. It sounded like a women to him but it could be anything now. He shaked, not out of fear but someone shaking his shoulder. "Can you hear me!" She screamed, his eyes opened blinded by lights, his ears near deaf from sounds. He couldn't move but feel his chest shivering everything. He weakly nodded as she pulled him up. A hard rock kep him upright looking at the women infront of his face. Booming thunder of artillery remindered him of something. He ducked his head cover it with his hands still shivering. "You'll pull throught, just follow me out of here! Ok?!" She yelled to be heard over the shelling. He finally spoke again. "OK! Just guide me with my hand!" The noises, smells and ringing in his head didn't help much. Everything blured from there. Dirty hills down to muddy ravines past worn blasted buildings as this hellish nightmare coninuted.
He couldn't remember his own name as the shells rained closer to their positions. His head taring from the seams as battles raged on around him. He kept on going thinking it had to end, yet it never seemed they were any closer. The man couldn't bear to looked into this woman's eyes blindly holding tight to her hand. Everything seemed to be some shade of whites or blacks only broken up by deep reds. His mind sipped as did his footing losing her hand and tubling down a crater. A blow to his aching head greeted him with more pain looking up to the deep hole's edge. She stood there reaching an arm down to him. He couldn't even move his arm only feeling a warm pain. "I'm NOT leaving you! Not now or ever!" She yelled slowly traveling down to reach him. Sharp pain seemed to rip throught her too as she lifted him out in her arms draging him.
His eyelids felt heavy as his drained mind couldn't process what else was happening. He couldn't do a damn thing sliping into darkness again. The sounds continued to plague him hearing cries and screams with shouts of commands. Then loud roaring of something mechanical. He heard sobbing to his right side. He couldn't see who but could heard her pleases for him to wake. His hand moved at last touching what felt like fur. Then light finally reached his eyes. She carefully hugged him in a fuzzy embace. Warmth from her was a good shock waking him more. He remembered something but couldn't. She kept thanking the stars saying something muttled again and again. "Oh thank the star you're alive Eric!" She repeated again much more clearly calming down. He put a face feeling his face unsure was what had happened to him. His head was still foggy. "What happened?" He groaned out feeling his chest shiver again. She pulled her head back showing her massive canine like snout tilled head in confusion.
"Eric, You saved me from that granede and got fell really hard during the battle." Her eyes filled with concren seeing his face in a fury of emotions. He shock his head trying to rack his brain on what had happened then. But that name, Eric, he knew that was him. Somewhere it stuck prefectly in his dazes mind. "I just don't remember Shara!" He blurted out. Cupping his face he felt just so confused of who he was. Apparently something had the large canine's attention. "That's right, that's my name Eric." She seemed so kind yet he felt something drilling into his own head it felt like.
"I just... It just... Ugh! FUCK this pain!" Eric screamed out clutching his head in such angony. Something flashed before his eyes, Some shadowly figure throwing what looked like a granede at the canine woman before his bed. Then it played out as he quick threw her over the railing then feeling the granede hit his chest. That flash of orangeish yellow blasting him over thr railing then falling, till the crack. He couldn't have that that! It was insane yet it made some sense compared to everything else. He laid back down rembering his journey trugging along till being dragged out. "You... You dragged me out." Eric head screamed with pain again.
Shara waited for his pain to subside before talking hating she couldn't ease his pain. His mind seemed to finally piece some of the puzzle together. "Yes I did after you pushed me to safety." She smiled warmingly while he tried to sit back up. His hand waved at her to give a claw for him. Eric's memories were still there, just buried a little bit. She carefully put a claw withing his reach as Eric pulled himself up. "I know you Shara but that battle I can't even recall much after the granede threw me over the railing." Eric touched the back of his neck, a habit she knew as a subconcoius way of showing restlessness. He looked himself over in the small mirror next to his bed. A few small scars covered him seeing it wasn't too bad relaxed feeling pain not from his head but chest. "Ugh, that hurts." Eric mumbled lifting up his blanket seeing bandage wrapped around his waist. "Did i get hit bad?" He didn't seem too scared knowing it was treated already.
"Nothing major, a few bad buries and a hip hit up not too badly." Shara nuzzled him again with Eric happily hugging her nose. Then a nurse came into the room intreputing their moment. Eric remember her strongly knowing her lovely face anywhere. "Hey Emily!" Eric waved to her as she ran over to hug him. Then she looked up at Shara as Shara looked away ears folded back. "He was awake and you didn't call me!" She shouted mad them looked at Eric laughing soon joining in with a hug.
