You are too cute. You know in the dorms I had a hotpot that I had a tiny 3-tier bamboo steamer that fit on top of it and I would make noodles and cook things in the steam.
Here we do a lot of Japanese cooking because we are vegitarians and live in a very tiny space and we currently only have a plug in electric burner.
People don't realize that if your food pleases both your tastes and your aesthetics then you are satisfied without over eating. Smaller bowls do it too.
I love your little space.

ohhh bentos are so much fun! The boxes are always so pretty but so not leak proof......or satyr proof for that matter. When we were married my best friend gave us large square snap-top containers that has removable compartment dividers inside and made us appropriately sized cloths in traditional Japanese prints and showed us how to tie them with a knot that will be a handle and hold your chopsticks. I highly recommend this so that you can still have bento style presentation even if you are having soup or rather wet noodles. (or if you are a school teacher and you have to bend over a lot with it in your backpack to tie shoes and give hugs ect before you can put your bento in the work fridge!) :D
