“Credit for your thoughts.” Avie chuckled.

“Huh!” Kyo suddenly jerked, seemingly startled by Avie’s intrusion into his thoughts?

What had he been thinking about? Moreover, how long had he paused and drifted away with the world not noticing a lone half elf no longer present? His gloves smelled like dirt and were smoothly harsh to his face, under that was his faint body odor, an inappropriately sweet smell that reminded him of steamed vegetables. That might have been it. Or that might have been his mind casting for anything than the fabled “nothing” that men are well known for giving.

“Let me guess, nothing?” Avie filled in as she took a seat beside the half elf. “It’s fine. We do it to, we think about something and the loose track of the thought with out realizing it. It might have been important, but not anymore.” Avie mused.

Kyo had only slightly shifted to give her some space on the cooler but otherwise said nothing.

“Well?”

“I think you are beautiful.” Kyo offered up. It was a meager compliment and a worse pick-up line.

“I know.” Avie replied. “And you’re sexy.”

The blunt compliment got Kyo to smile a bit.

“Thanks.”
