Growing up, Nilla and her tentacles seemed to be two different creatures partially fused together, and at some point she began referring to her tentacles as 'Clark.'
It eventually became apparent that 'Clark' was not actually a separate creature, but actually part of Nilla's self which acted more on instinct and subconscious thought, giving the illusion of autonomy. This was a depressing revelation for Nilla, who felt for a long time as though she had lost a life-long friend.
