YAAAAY NATU PLUSHIE!
a plush i've been working on in my spare time, based on my soulsilver natu; Wind. He counts for a lot of practicing new techniques, specifically, eyes.
I'd bought iron-on transfer paper so i could print his eyes on my computer and then iron them on, but after testing it out, i realized not only did the white of the transfer paper transfer as clear, but it also had issues transferring onto non-flat surfaces and minky fabric.
so... i used babylondonstar's eye embroidery tutorial, sewing on the pupils and eye-shine to the whites of his eyes. then, i decided it wouldn't look good if i hand-sewed on the eyes, which meant i had to open a seam and embroider them on that way. it was a very long, complicated procedure. BUT IT WORKED WELL. (i think?)
i had the option of using red minky for his wings, or using some extra red faux-fur i had laying around, and i thought the faux fur would look better; more like feathers. ^_^ the black details are also embroidered on. yay embroidery practice! his wings are also have a small strip of velcro at the back, so that he can open them and close them.
His head-feather and tail feathers have craft foam inside to give them extra stiff-ness, but because of his head-feather's size, it doesn't stand on its own. ;A;
(let's just say he's doing the cockatiel thing, okay? okay.)
i'll be using him in my pokemon trainer cosplay this year at AnimeEvolution, and may sell him afterwards. i'm not sure yet. he's aproximatly life sized, standing at 9 inches tall, excluding his head-feather (i know most natu's are only 8 inches, but let's just say Wind's a big boy.)
Pokemon belong to Nintendo/gamefreak
