Zal trembles again, and rises, back turned to you all. She drops her cloak and her bulkier dress. You see wrappings fall from her legs, having given them a little more bulk to keep her illusion going. As she turns to face you, you see a very different Zal..... Zal is not a goblin, and never was.
Finally catching up to Zal, she revealed the truth. She was never a goblin, rather a beholderkin born from the dreams of her vile creator. His dreams of conquest mixed with dreams of armies and created many humanoid beholderkin. This disgusted him, and so he killed them all, with Zal being the only survivor. Much to her surprise, the party accepted her anyway!
