The selkhaz sprang from the river scattering the laundry and nearly catching the two washer women. Having failed in it's ambush the beast began cavorting about in an exciting manner making sport of the clothes in place of the intended prey. All the while shreaking, writhing, and squealing as it flopped about.

The two ladies, having narrowly escaped with their lives decided that the day's chores were very much concluded. So they retired to the house and shared a bottle of elderberry wine.

The remingtonoceitdae are long snouted semiaquatic whales. They are called “selkhaz” and are more seal like than true whales. These sleeks furred creatures with long jaws and sharp teeth inhabit the coasts and rivers filling the vacant seal, otter, and crocodile roles in the ecology. The danger posed by these creatures could easily be forgotten as they play and sing their haunting songs in shallows. Yet these beasts are dangerous killers that have taken many unwary souls to drown in the dark cold artic water.
