The idea for this peace had been floating around in my head, but I finally got the impetus to type it up when Will A. Sanborn started looking for submissions to his short story anthology Different Worlds, Different Skins.. I ended up getting beaten out at the last minute, but there are some fantastic authors in there, so I don't feel too bad. I highly recommend the book if you have not had the chance. At any rate I (and certain vocal others) say it is time to put it up for the public's eye.
Welcome to my universe. I intend to do more stories in this setting. I hope you enjoy.

I appreciate the kind words. I do have plans for other stories in this world, and people have asked about a sequel, we shall see. I'm sure she knows cocoa is bad for her, but she is more than half human. When have we ever been good about not doing things that are bad for us? ^^
Now, I like TF stories and all, but this one... well, for me, this struck a really powerful chord. Beautiful, tasteful, perhaps heartfelt - I'm having a hard time finding adequate words that do this story justice. Guess that's why I draw and don't write! Suffice to say, it's something I intend to read again and again :)
I've never been big on transformation stories, but I really liked this one. The angle was different, in that the character wasn't happy about her change, and I liked how it was caused through sexual transmission like an STD. Plus you had very intriguing characters, so kudos to you on that.
I quite like your attention to descriptive detail and the well-expressed psychology of your characters. I do think the story progresses a tad too fast on the dialogue, but on the other hand my dialogue tends to be criticized for being on the slower side (dialogue is also my weakest area in writing), so take that with a grain of salt. I want to also say the opening scene was beautifully constructed-- the point of view is directed exactly where it needs to go and is kept narrow enough that the action feels grounded even when you haven't established the setting or character appearance much yet.
Very nice, overall. Thank you for posting this :D Now I'm gonna start going after you to write more :P
