Three years ago I noticed how Izuku's scars, from BNHA, reminded me of a tiger's stripes. I did a first design of him as a melanistic tiger by hand back then but it stressed me so much I ended up dropping the idea of doing that with more characters. I still really liked the idea of doing anthro versions of more BNHA characters and continue postponing my return to this for three years.
Now, I finally decided to get back to it digitally and redesigned tiger Izuku! He would now start out as a melanistic tiger but slowly turns similar to a golden tiger.
To fit in with the character, as a melanistic tiger he has a green-ish tint to his fur to mimic his hair color in the anime.
