Philomela - By VulKriidArt
VulKriidArt did this wonderful rendition of Philomela trying really hard to look sexy.Probably the person that took the photo would have better had to pose her and gently deposit her on the sofa.
Here she evidently walked on a wooden floor and sat on it.
Buuut yeah. Okay. People really do not like to read manuals.
They will learn via the reapirs of the property damage will teach the user to take pictures properly.

Let's just say that after she gets ahold of magic she does have quite a fierce kick, she only needs to time it right, but kicking back her heel toe means her leg switches posture to "anthro" and you could feasibly use that to enhance a kick, since it's supposed to support her when she lands.
So... yeah if she needs to she can defend herself, "now".
In the comic (that... is still incomplete, unfortunately, due to the artist falling ill and now basically needing to retrain herself on how to draw) she gets bought legally.
Then she is tested to see what are her capabilities, up to then everything looks normal to her.
Then, after enough tests are done, when she is completely wound down, they go disassembling her to reverse engineer her.
It would make no sense to try and disassemble her when she is winded and able to act.
Moreover at that stage she is little more than a machine and still has not got ahold of magic.
So, even if she were to be untrusting, everybody else has full power over her, they can hit a switch that will lock her or another that will instantly unwind her, if needed, and they can change her behavior patterns by switching her trained skills via some cards.
It's like buying a very expensive (and only slightly more aware) Aibo.
