You come back home from the video game store with a used copy of Super Alpha Fur Fighters Tournament 8: Uncaged Zoo Edition. It might not include the statue you get for preordering it day one and the instruction manual inside might look pretty crumpled but it thankfully includes all the DLC from both the original release AND the updated version that came out later on the disc. Throwing your keys and wallet onto the table at the front door, you run off to go put the game into your console. With a bag of chips and bottle of pop in hand, you plop down on the couch after the game finishes updating and watch the cinematic intro before the title screen appears. After going through the extras and options just to see what you can do, you go straight for the 1V1 mode. With over 50 characters to play as, you have a lot of options. Since you played the previous game, you decide to try your luck with newcomer to the game, Alester. According to the character select, he’s a wolf/kitsune hybrid. Kinda bizarre, but hey! So is the rest of the roster! After reading up on his move set and checking out his gameplay style, you go pick your CPU opponent. Just for the hell of it, you pick your current main, Issac the hippopotamus and set him to medium difficulty. You pick the championship boxing ring and you’re ready to play. That iconic orange text appears on the screen. “Are You Ready...GO!!!” read the text as it turned into a flaming blue colour! With the round beginning, you step towards the hippo and tag him with a standard punch to the side. The Issac AI stumbles back before taunting you. You approach him only for your opponent to try and throw a straight punch to the face. You just barely hit the dodge button in time, causing Alester to duck out of the way and letting you tag him with a punch to the face. Before the computer player can attack again, you throw a punch to the gut, knocking the big guy down for now. As you pause the game before the countdown begins, you stop and wonder if you’ve found your next main for competitive use!


Guess what, I won a raffle recently on Twitter! A frankly AMAZING animator held a YCH raffle and I was one of the winners! I am amazed at how good this looks. It’s just so awesome and I’m honestly shocked I was able to have my hippo getting knocked around in animated form!

Alester is owned by https://mobile.twitter.com/arkrevolver . I have to admit, I’ve never heard of a “folfsune” before but their character looks great. According to them, this is the first time their character has ever been depicted as a boxer but I think it’s great and I’d personally be 100% down with seeing their character entering the ring again!
