Really weird combination, I had to go through a few iterations for this one. Basically a goat crossed with a beetle with a bit of mantis mixed in. Initially I wasn't going to add elytras, but I thought that something based off a goat would likely fight a lot which would mean its delicate wings would need something to protect them.
Deep within the darkest forests where the trees grow tall and branches thick with leaves, the males of this species find rare spots where a beam of light manages to shine through. Here they open their wings and allow the light to dance on their colourful shining carapace like scales to attract mates. If two males find the same beam of light they often fight it out until one retreats or dies.
