After many battles, Darny felt like his optic staff wasn’t holding up as well against tougher opponents. Feeling the need to upgrade his staff, he asked Ethan if he can bring him to the smithy in Astera. Ethan gladly accepted the request and both bros went there post haste. Once there, Darny showed his weapon to the smithy, who recommended using elder dragon materials for a great power boost. Ethan immediately knew the best elder dragon to use. Both bros headed out to Seliana, where they prepared for a Velkhana hunt in the hoarfrost reach. Once there, Ethan used his scout flies to track the beast. When they found it, Ethan and Darny unleashed everything they got on it. Ethan managed to land a hit on the monsters face, while Darny summoned multiple flying minions to barrage Velkhana. With the monster distracted by Darny’s minions, both bros made the final killing blow, and Velkhana fell. Darny was excited about the new upgrade for his staff, as he helped Ethan carry the materials they carved back to Astera. Once there, Ethan got to work upgrading his lil bro’s weapon. When he was done, he stepped out of the forge to present Darny with his upgraded staff, the Vorpal Optica. Darny was amazed by the beautiful design, he decided to give it a test run. Now his minions were much stronger with the added ice element.
