The Dire Cave Salamande also referred to as the Kaizer Olm, is a massive subterranean amphibian that inhabits caves and lakes located in the Underdark. Due to thousands of years spent in a habitat devoid of light, it became completely blind. Instead of sight, it depends on electro-receptors in its skin and gill-fins to move around.
Once it locates prey, the Kaizer Olm releases a massive electrical discharge in order to incapacitate its prey, which it then swallows whole. It has a throat lined with small but sharp spikes (much like a leatherback turtle) which aid it in cutting up prey before it reached its stomach.
It is not a picky eater and will consume virtually anything that has meat on it: bats, trolls, goblins, or humans.... anything that is unlucky enough to get detected by this terror of the deep is likely to become its next meal.
