Traveling across Pangea is dangerous business. While the continents may still be connected there are mountains to traverse and seas to cross. Not to mention still-hostile tribes of humans, theropods, and raptors; as well as huge predators that would rather eat an Oviraptor than look at one.
As well as the geographic landscape, there is a geo-political one as well. Countries and kingdoms are constantly at war, and so crossing some boarders must be done with armed guards and written permission from the ruling parties.
Traveling in herds is instinctual to dinosaurs; they still always choose to travel in parties of at least five, sometimes growing to caravans of over forty or more. Many humans will also join up with these saurian traveling companions because they, too, realize the safety of large numbers.

i'm in the process of writing a graphic novel/online comic called Gears of Pangea. without getting into too much details, some dinosaurs species have survived extinction to go on and evolve sapience, culture, and society.
here we see three individuals: a Tsintaosaurus spinhorinus in the background pulls a cart full of supplies to trade. in the foreground is a Gallimimus bullatus wearing a straw hat and carrying a supply pack, and a Citipati osmoslkea also carrying a pack and a walking-stick.
their packs contain mostly water-canteens, woolen blankets, and simple knives and weapons, and flint and steel. they collect their own dung and dry it out to use for fuel for fire (it's gross but efficient!) and they can easily find food on-the-fly and generally forage for fruits, planet-matter, and tubers, and the Gallimimius and Citipati/oviraptor also hunt small mammals, birds, insects, and small reptiles.
they have silks, bone-crafts, semi-precious jewels, dinosaur jewelry, exotic herbs, spices, and other botany, and even some clothing from native human women, as well as precious-metals, stone and wood idols, and various native crafts. when they get to their destination they will use some as collateral to buy a merchant's license. they will then sell their wares and hire a larger group to go back and collect more wares, as well as buy any items of interest on the way their and back. everyone in the village who donated items gets a cut based on the modern market value of their goods.
i imagine they are travelling west, from their home-land in what we call Mongolia - to the country we call Italy, to visit their version of Rome on trade-related business. only recently has relatively-enough peace come to the lands of Pangea to allow individual trade-business, and dinosaurs are finally receiving more rights as individuals in human politics.
a ceratopsian is even the Pope!
the story will take place between the mid 1850's to late 1890's - i still haven't set complete dates.
the social, political, religious, and cultural problems and issues will all be similar but not completely analogous. for instance, there are completely different but similar religions, and some religious figures may not even be human. (did anyone say Raptor Jesus?)
these guys really don't have anything to do with the story, but i do imagine that the main characters might bump into them - or people very like them - at some point in the story.

thank you very much for your comment
i'm glad that - while this may remind you of Dinotopia - that you can find its own unique tone and feel. i'm glad you are interested in this project, and as soon as i start actually making pages you'll definitely be able to find them here :3
thanks again!
