Old Trick: FETCH!
The day started off really awkwardly, but they made it through breakfast, Milo assured Javier that all was not lost, and they made it out. It was a day trip out to a national park nearby where Javier could be… well, himself, without anyone stumbling across them. They packed lunches in a cooler that Milo carried pretty much the entire way, but he didn’t mind. Good times were had by all.
Some notes:
- The fetch trick really only works for Stella or other people that the shifter is particularly comfortable with. Otherwise, they’d probably be too mindful to be that distracted by their animal nature.
- Milo likes to read high fantasy epics. When he was young, he pretended that shifters came from a fantasy world like that and he’d pretend that he was a knight that could also transform into a great, noble beast to save the day.
- Stella prefers to watch TV shows or soccer. She played for a couple of years in high school and will still play sometimes recreationally. She enjoys action movies as well as B horror and sci-fi. She’ll occasionally go for a horror movie if the plot is also good.
- Javier doesn’t like to sit still long enough to read a physical book, but Milo bought him a nice phone that he uses to listen to podcasts and audio books while he’s cleaning. He likes pulp-era mysteries with detectives, damsels in distress, bootleggers, wild shoot outs, etc.
It’s a little rougher than usual, but this is supposed to be my relaxy-fun-low-pressure project. I hope you enjoy it, anyway c:

OMG, Javier is ADORABLE here! :)
The lure of BALL was too much for his puppy brain to handle, but doesn't hold a candle to STICK! XD
Also, interesting how now that they're far out away from prying eyes, far enough that Javier feels comfortable going full pupper, yet Milo is putting in the effort to stay fully human. No ears or anything.
Practice, or something else? Hmmmmmm.....

Thank youuuuuu
I really wanted to get back to some of the dog-like aspects of the comic with this one. I thought about doing another one with Milo playing a bit, but 1) I am le tired and 2) Milo doesn’t really relax that way in spaces that he’s not familiar with. I’d like to say that the panel is something deep and interesting, but it, too, is more about Milo’s trust issues. xD
