What kind of cook would I be if I didn't know how to make a basic omelet? Here's how I made mine, and if you still don't quite know how to pull it off, just follow this recipe!
Ingredients:
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tbsp of butter
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 1/4 tsp of black pepper
- Fresh chives
- Ketchup
Recipe:
1. Chop up the chives if they haven't been chopped already.
2. Crack the eggs into a small bowl and mix them together thoroughly with a whisk.
3. Season the beaten eggs with the salt and pepper and 1 tsp of the chopped chives, then mix further.
4. Heat the butter in a frying pan over medium-high heat until the butter has melted and starts bubbling.
5. Pour the egg into the pan, tilting the pan slightly from side to side and allowing the egg to cover the pan completely.
6. Let the egg cook for about 25-30 seconds, then scrape a line through the middle with a spatula.
7. Tilt the pan to allow the middle to fill back up with the runny egg and let it sit and cook for another 20 seconds before scraping a line through the middle again. Repeat this several times until the egg has almost fully cooked.
8. Gently fold the egg in half with the spatula and flip it over, letting it sit for 5-10 seconds.
9. Slide the omelet onto a plate and decorate it with some ketchup.
Yay! You did it! \owo/ You've made a simple and lovely meal that's good for any time of day, and now that you've got the basics mastered, you can take the next step and try upgrading the omelet by adding stuff to the middle of it!
This also marks another entry in the Foodons list: #3, the loveable Omelet, made from, as her name suggests, a plain omelet!
