Without warning, the sound of thunder reaches your ears as a hypervelocity object slams into the wicked beast, leaving a trail of bright hot plasma from which it had carved its path and leaving the heavily-damaged beast in a state for you to easily slay it.

With random portals always works the principle of Russian roulette, because you never know where you teleport and whether you will survive in the process. And with man-made portals there are always a lot of problems, details and mathematical calculations with coordinates without which it is extremely dangerous to move.
