I saw a photo stereogram once, and decided to experiment with making one myself...
And it freaking worked!
So what I did, was hold my phone to my eye, took a pic, then held it to the other eye, trying to keep it level, and took another pic. Then I put the left pic on the right, and the right pic on the left, and that's it! It would be much better if I had a tri-pod rather than doing it free hand, but these things are evidently very easy to make!
Just thought that was cool XD

Kudos to the 3D photo. I too was able to see the depth in your stereogram.
When I bought my first digital camera in 2000, I attempted to run the experiment off my back porch by seeing depth in the architecture. It too worked. My favorite 3D photos involve statues and sculptures.
