I turned on my computer today, and was horrified to find out that its most important component, the microphone, was not working properly. It was still working in some programs, like Skype and in the Control Panel tests, but not in Audacity, Sound Recorder or Mumble. I spent a long time trying to fix this, until Makki suggested I should kick it.
