Passing an artwork back and forth -- like an Exquisite Corpse?

Not the Exquisite Corpse technique in which one person draws part of the picture surface and then passes it on. i penciled the entire basic layout; me chum wanted to make this a character he had doodled a few times and so roughly penciled the head and hands - i have changed the head a bit here so that it's isn't his character as we haven't been chums for over thirty years and not in contact to get permissions, etc. Then a bit of back and forth penciling in the background . The inking is all mine as that wasn't one of his skills (great drummer, but fledgling artist).

That sounds like the 'collaborations' the kids are doing these days.

Yep. Other artists friends - we would collaborate in other ways - it was musually like "Hey, y'wanna jam on a picture ?" No set system.

Neat setting, extremely malleable.

I love this picture, its a great style. My childhood was immersed in pictures like these from the days when most books were still black and white because color was way too expensive.
