Many years ago, while in the middle of working on my massive first book from the main timeline of the Uneepa Universe, I'd quickly realized that I was somewhat out of my league in terms of my current writing skills. Hence I’d started working on a side story set 25 years in the future, explaining the origins of the species of Mishwi from that book, a Darjeet who was the first among his kind to be set free.
The first book would eventfully be called “The Darjeets of Araqurin- A Brave New World” Which tells the story of how the first born, a Darjeet who was the first to be naturally concepted, rather then created artificiality by technological means like every other Darjeet had been before, got himself and his family to escape from the Aquarium that they were housed in, learning how to survive out in the wild as well facing dangers from all around. This story was originally supposed to be a light hearted, simple affair, but as the more I’d wrote the story, the more I’d started planning out several more books, complicating plots and character story lines. Eventfully I’d actually finished the first Darjeet book, and for a time held it in reserved, working on its squeal- Two Bridges.
Eventfully in thanks in part to
Red-IzaK Who called up an friend in the editor bushiness while I was commissioning him, he had personally looked at my first book for me and give it a quick review.
The editor loved the story idea, and clearly knew that this book has great potential. However he’d noticed that there was several plot, and character issues which needed to be addressed, and thankfully gave me an detail list of what needed to be given a second look over. From this list, I knew that the book was still in need of a lot of work, and thinking it over for a while, I decided that I would have to write in a heaping bunch of extra details to make the plot more feasible, and this, it had became a whole new revision of the story. I went back to work, completely changing a lot of things, and added in a bunch of new content in every chapter, going back and making sure to used the editor notes to fix up the issues, while strengthening current characters, adding in new ones, and fixing up plot points.
Overall, I’d managed to complete seven chapters so far, and there will even be two entirely new chapters once I finally finished it all. So far I’d been only showing the updated versions to family, but thank to a few of my friends here who had shown interest in my works from before, I’d decided that I will indeed post the updated versions on here as well from time to time. I hope y’all will enjoy the fresh take of “A Brave New World”, as indeed, a lot has changed since I started on this book many years ago in a hotel, as I was waiting to be trained as a new truck driver.
This is the first Chapter from A Brave new World, titled: "Brother troubles"
