The Abyssal Sea Drake is a massive, deep-water predator with a similar lifestyle to whales. It swims through the deep ocean, hunting schools of small fish and squid; it uses its pelican-like lower jaw and throat sack to suddenly suck in prey into its maw. The numerous thin teeth function much the same way as baleens in whales, letting the drake filter out seawater while keeping the prey in.
It evolved from a coastal species of drake that over 20 million years steadily ventured deeper and deeper into the ocean depths. the only remnant of its terrestrial past is a pair of vestigial hindlimbs that are yet to fully disappear in the process of evolution.
