I figured out how to make Illustrator emulate the look of me using technical pens on shitty, bleedy paper, like I did a lot when I was in my teens. And the occasional attempt at a brush, as well.
I do not know if I will ever actually need to use this, it's diametrically opposed to how I normally like to work. But if I ever decide "nervous kinetic pen energy" is what I need, I'll know to go digging around looking for this sketch.
(Hello Future Peggy! If you ended up here looking for this, it's in a file called "curvy line union.ai".)

This is fantastic! It really reminds me of what you describe, tech pens on bleedy paper (in my case it was always cheap bristol), perhaps with the added bonus of being scanned with a handheld scanner. Those were the days.
Also, genius to put the original file name for future-self.

I have gotten into the general habit of treating Future Me and Past Me as another person. Sometimes I do a thing that I know Future Me will be glad to have done and I say "you're welcome, future me!". And sometimes I say "thanks, past me!" when I realize I'm glad Past Me did something sensible.
Oddly enough it sort of makes it easier to do things that are a bit of a hassle.
