I strayed through the woods, trying to leave the creature called Paddy in my shadows. I had not dared to leave for the monsterous form I still had dispite my logic, reason and will I retained as well as my mobility, I would be shunned. Thankfully a village of elfs lived within the woodlands, not much else in terms of choice, I stole away some cloth to give myself some dignity. I did not know what to do of myself, I could not show my deformed self to any human for they would kill me as the monster I was.. Little choice at hand I sunk myself lower to the depths of a monsters level. But something within me felt bad for such thought, when my mind wondered to it, it lead me to think of the monster plant that turned me to what I am now..I do not understand what it is..but perhaps if I observe her a bit I shall understand why I have this odd feeling through my mind now of all times...
It has been near two weeks, I am more perplexed by her then ever. She goes about in a solid like shape but in all truth she is actually a slime creature of sort. I had heard of the breed of monsters learning to assume human like forms, but Paddy seem to take the approuch of a plants..there were hunters in the woods, one of their dogs chased at a rabbit for some time, the poor thing was badly harmed from it and all for stupid sport. But when this strange plant like slime came close the hunters ran taking their hound with them, it was strange given Paddys own meek nature when she saw them..she caught the rabbit, dispite its struggles, she gave a sadden speech to it as if expecting it to converse with her as she opened her maw to dine on it. At the time, I thought at least now it would not die without reason, or suffer from the wound, little chance it would heal normally leaving the poor thing to have a short life span as stands. But I was wrong, after a while, Paddy alowed a part of her form to liquify and expel the rabbit harmlessly to the ground, perfectly healed and cleaned of its wounds. Its fur and bounce were the most lively I have ever seen and the strange slime seemed as pepper as it..is that what Paddy did to me to alter my transformation...
a month I have been following this strange slime girl, Paddy, during the course of the weeks the mushrooms along my body began to grow and brighten, but it seems to have little effect to me like the matango spores had, I must indeed be safe from such a fate. There was a storm, rather bad one through the forest, it nearly paralized her with fear if she had not turned to her liquid form to hide under a tree. When the storm passed she was a bit cheerful at all the refreshing water about, but the storm had dammaged a tree not far. I could tell even at a distance the damage from the lightning would end its life cycle, the sight brought a great fearful response from Paddy, was she more scared of the sight of death then of her own? I watched with amazed eyes as Paddy pressed her limbs to the damaged and burnt wood, pouring her liquid form into it with of all things strain. She continued to produce more of her own self into the nearly split in two tree to fill the gaps, the prossess seem to be a very tasking thing, it drained a good some of her strength to keep going she began to lose her solid shape. I swore, it was if she was pouring her life force to give ot the tree, begging it to live...soon after paddy reverted to her inatimate liquid state, the tree split finally, but a small bit of branches were growing from the stump...would Paddy have given her life to save the tree's?
A few more months watching over Paddy and her antics, the more I learn about her the little I seem to know later on. I've learned I can control some of the form my mushrooms take along my body, its a bit easier to keep the one atop my head like a hat to keep cover .A small family of rabbits came up ot her, I think they were either the offspring or siblings to the one she saved some months ago. They were not afraid of her, but just as she was of them, curious. They got right up to her as she sat down, she already 'fed' herself some time ago not needing such at the moment and let them begin to sniff at her. Almost though, at first a few giggles came out but it became apparent their little wiggling noses tickled her greatly, she fell in a helpless heap crying through her laughter to stop smelling her, which only encuraged the little critters to sniff and bounce around her tickling her even more, silly dear could have just grabbed them up and held them in her lap to set them right probably. Maybe she was just curious of how it would feel to be helpless..but it worries me she wont defend herself against things bigger then her if she wont even do it to a bunch of silly rabbits...
I understand now, something about Paddy that I thought of long ago and, more importaintly, of myself. I feel of a fool for taking this long now, but I know what I have to do. Paddy gave me my life back, my life as it is now, though changed from the normal of my old life, for the better, is not mine anymore...Ive decided on it at long last..
