Decades have passed since the initial transformation. And yet, none of us have aged a day. Nor have any of the potion effects worn off. It seems when the potions were combined, some aspects were amplified and now we'll never change back. We'll always be stuck as a little kids. Always stuck being tiny. Always stuck being mouse boys.
... So really it's actually a pretty good deal. We might not be able to talk, and we might use our apparent ages to act a bit more childish and mischievous, but we still have our minds intact. We know how to make tools. And so, we sneak around the school, stealing what food we need while making our home in the rafters and inside the walls. They've put out every kind of mouse trap they can think of to catch us over the years, both magical and mundane. Were we normal mice, they might even have worked. But of course, we're far too clever to ever fall for a trap like that.
