Scrawny, tall as hell, and toothsome, Salem the ghoul looks nothing like the dashing scamp he was in life- not that he remembers that. His hide is stained with magicks, though he usually covers up with a coat and his burial shroud.
{{ STRENGTHS }}
Anatomical Knowledge and Innate Understanding: He can tell you where all the femurs are. Well, and all the other bones, muscle groups, ligaments, tendons, and organs a thing has, but really, he only loves the femurs. It’s a weird little knack.
Hardcore Parkour: Look, when you’re as unlucky as he is, you learn how to scamper in the most efficient getaway method possible, and to put as many obstacles in the way as possible
(Mostly) Undead Vigor: His particular flavour of ghoul is technically a few shades closer to alive than the average zombie. Slow heartbeat, could go on for a long ass time living, but he’s still gotta eat and sleep. If his heart isn’t completely stopped, he’ll simply go inert and sleep until his body’s slow metabolism has put enough of him back together to move again.
{{ WEAKNESSES }}
Throwing dem BONES: Look. He’s got one fuck of a gambling habit. He’ll bet his last meat-scrap against the house if offered. He’s just gotta.
Untrained Magicks: He may have the ability to cast. His corpse may have been bathed in necrotic energies, and he may or may not have been an attempt to fulfill a prophecy, but something fucked up, and his casting is almost always accidental, and rarely does what he intends.
Fragile: While he is (mostly) Undead, he’s still scrawny as hell for his intended species. If you can catch him, a couple good slaps will likely render him inert for some time. He’s also technically a living creature, so, crushing his head or piercing the heart will kill him.
Cat-o-phobia: They’re the guardians of the dead and prowled the necropolis, terrifying the good Sallowfolk there constantly. Plus, they’re practically liquid and magick and they don’t have to blink and that’s distressing.
{{ QUIRKS }}
»The femur is the best bone in the human body, bar none. As such, his alignment is Neutral Femur.
»His casting is almost always accidental if it is successful, and usually takes place while he's gnawing on bones.
»Sometimes, his magickal markings will be more subdued and his hide will look more 'natural', as though he were albino.
»As mentioned, he is technically alive!
{{ Little Bitta Background? Ok, ok, little bitta background. }}
He was one of tens of thousands of bodies a necromancer picked up and gathered in a massive necropolis. Like each of his brethren, he got the magick dip. Maybe they didn’t leave him in long enough, maybe they left him too long. Maybe the necromancer remembered she had put cookies in and forgot about him but either way, he came out scrawny and a little more clever. He didn’t have the appetite for killing, didn’t have the strength for hard labour, and had enough of a mind to actually tell the necromancer no- so she threw him back into the necropolis with all the other rejects and undead that called it home. So much for that prophecy.
