Seeing the scene I made a theory taking into account that Renamon is much stronger than a human, so it would make sense that they capture Rika first. Renamon perhaps deep down had to get caught up in fearing for his friend if he disobeyed. Perhaps the captor used that to his advantage when attacking Renamon saying during the fight: "he stops resisting you and breathes if you want your friend not to get hurt".

Reading the comments accompanying the image, I was also one of those who wished Ruki and Takato were dating. And yes, I also agree that Ruki should have been captured first to use as bait for Renamon, since she's a female Digimon, far from being considered a damsel in distress.
