Whidbey is a giant island that just wants to eat you up. but its a good place to go if you wanna get away from people of Seattle, If you go to Whidbey just be ware of the Screecher myth.
Seattle center has a giant grass area when there isn't any events going on.
You can also try Gas Works Park, as you can see in this picture there is grass but outside this picture there's even more grass. It's basically this giant park where you can get together with friends and have a pick-nick.
Or you could try Magnuson Park, its just this giant stretch of park, very pretty, quiet and secluded, just off Lake Washington.
Or if you wanna be a little more close to civilization you can try Woodland Park Next to Woodland Park Zoo.
