This has always been one of my favorite species. They are amazing little creatures and almost never get featured in drawings. She was originally made just to add some biodiversity to the anthro art category. I have been unable to find much artwork of this species so I went and made it myself. I'm still not sure if I want her to be a cannon character or not. I feel like her design is a triumph of riding the line between creepy and cute. She definitely hails from the depths of the "uncanny valley " just look at them fangs! I may start doing more weird varmints just for the sake of doing so.

(Yes I already do that but I want to take it further)

She is so absolutely adorable. Yet, the idea of waking up at night and seeing her looking at you from the top shelf of your open closet is nightmare material.

I've always thought it would be fun to have a chevrotain as a pet in a house with lots of hardwood flooring. So it's tiny hoofs would make make lots of clicking sounds. It would be fun to not tell people it is around or what it was and claim ignorance of its existing and act like they had lost their minds when they try to describe the "big eyed creature with fangs" that scampered around the house at night.
