A day to himself was hardly a day to relax, Glenn decided, as he headed out of the castle in his casual clothing, eschewing the bright orange robes for the day. Likely, most folk would be more than happy to wear the uniform of the king's personal servants, the garb putting nearly the entire kingdom of Vamstead at the young man's service, but that sort of attention was something he was happy to avoid while his great monarch, Igmas, was off on business that didn't require the human's company.
Glenn moved through the halls of the castle, making sure to stop by the kitchen to greet his fellow royal subjects, and to pick up the order he'd placed the day before. He didn't dawdle, heading back out into the enormous hallways, pulling a small cart behind him, loaded with racks of various filled fruit pies, cheerily marching along and greeting everyone he passed by name with a smile and occupied bow of his head.
As he moved out into the courtyard, the young man emerged into a bright, sunny day in the castle's courtyard, bustling with activity and movement. Glenn only moved along on his way, humming a tune as he headed for the great front entrance, the stone road leading out and towards the surrounding town of Vamstead.
Glenn paused as he passed through the gargantuan archway, having to contest with next to no traffic at this time of morning. The human sighed as he set that cart down, turning to face the pair of guards at the gate, tilting his head back as he looked up, up, and up to behold the two stoic, monumental dragons who stood constant guard at the entrance to the castle, adorned in shimmering golden armor, staring ahead down the road, each with a solemn, disciplined expression, a stark contrast to the cheerily smiling human.
"Good morning, dame Otirrin! Good morning sir Erabor!" Glenn called up to the pair of guards in a sing-song voice, giving an excited wave to both of the towering behemoths. As the human had expected, there was no response, the two taking their jobs as silent sentinels very seriously, Glenn knew. Still, both cast their eyes down to the human for a moment before looking forward again. Glenn chuckled softly to himself, moving to throw a small picnic cloth down in front of the dragon, Otirrin, before he began unloading half of those oversized pies onto it, stacking them neatly before doing the same for the other sentry, Erabor. Glenn sighed as he got everything unloaded, wiping his brow a bit as he moved back to the center of the road in in front of the pair, hands held behind his back as he rock to and fro on his heels cheerfully. "Pies from the castle for you two! Just a small token of thanks for all you do for everyone. Even though he's not big on giving compliments, believe me when I say King Igmas holds you in the highest regard. And if you ever need an ear for whatever reason, I'm almost always around! Take care of yourselves!" Glenn called out brightly before he headed back into the castle grounds, bringing that cart back with him. The two guards stayed quiet and stoic, though Glenn couldn't help but grin wide as he saw both of their tail-tips thumping lightly in anticipation of the treats. Experience had shown that the pair wouldn't make a move on the offerings until they were left entirely alone, so the human didn't dawdle, humming a tune as he headed back to return the cart to the kitchen, greeting folk warmly on his way through the courtyard. It was going to be a good day, he was certain.
A super awesome piece of my dorky Glenn from the lovely
thedorkychicken Be certain to check them out for some really great stuff!
I really love how this piece came out, and the absolutely perfect Glenn-energy they managed to capture (Glennergy if you will) on their first attempt at him.
He looks a little older and bulkier than he usually does here, and I kinda really dig it, even if I don't ever see Glenn as much more than scrawny ever.
I don't do a lot of lore stuff for Glenn. Despite being in the same world as Cain and Olli, he tends to have his own adventures on a different continent.
