the next character I drew for Pride Month is Steven Universe, from the show of the same name, and I'm pretty sure he's a straight ally. Ok so unlike other characters I drew for pride month, I admittedly didn't have this character's association with this group outright confirmed, and this is more speculation than anything, but hear me out. For those who don't know- a Straight Ally is someone who is heterosexual and/or cisgender who supports the lgbtq, so basically... Steven. Like seriously, there are not so subtle lgbtq themes in this show, and on top of Steven just overall being very tolerant, loving and supporting to people in general, he clearly acknowledges and supports same sex relationships going on around him (he was even the one who brought up the notion of Ruby and Sapphire getting married for crying out loud). So while this is admittedly more headcanon than confirmed info, I think it works, and I think Steven is a good representative for the Straight Ally part of the community (though this is mostly because I tried looking up SA characters, and unlike with other lgbtq categories, I couldn't find any pages that gave lists of characters who fell into that category). Steven's story tells a very important message about finding beauty in the most unlikely of places, showing kindness to others, even if you feel that they don't deserve it, and unfortunately in Future's case.. the importance of mental health and family (you need to watch Future to understand the unfortunate part).
