Tetsuo Umezawa is a forlorn noble from the Far East who left his family after having a disagreement with his father, an affluent merchant and landowner, about how he treated his serfs. Out of spite after being disowned and as a testimony of his highest act of rebellion, Tetsuo purloined two family heirlooms, the named katanas Zanka no Tachi and Hyōrinmaru, before running away. Absolutely livid, his paternal hired bounty hunters to track the ronin and retrieve the precious twin blades of fire and ice.

Humble and eloquent swordsman runaway, Tetsuo has been able to outsmart his pursuers for months unend through shrewdness and steady resolve. The fugitive found shelter in the Western countryside where he befriended a changeling farmer girl named Lorelai who he quickly grew attached to. Worried that her life might be endangered due to his precarious situation, Tetsuo tried to take to his heels while she was asleep, but to no avail. Indeed, Lorelai was determined and ready to follow the samurai; he wasn't getting by without her.

With a quiet sigh followed by a grin, Tetsuo happily obliged.

The two of them are now roaming across the continent, trying their best to escape those who wish nothing but ill upon their blood while they gather intel on the location of other mystical elemental blades that Tetsuo seems to have an unique affinity to wield.

Yes, I know that Tetsuo and his swords' names are homages to a MTG card and fictional weapons; I am absolutely shameless about it ;)
