****Spoilers for Steven Universe and Steven Universe Future****

Next character I drew for Pride month is the lovely fusion between Steven Universe and Connie Maheswaran- Stevonnie, who is Intersex and Non-Binary. Fusion is a very popular subject in Steven Universe, be it in the actual show or the fandom, and Stevonnie certainly turned a lot of heads considering they were the first fusion that consisted of a gem (or rather half gem) and a human. Beach City's residential fusion expert Garnet says it best- Stevonnie is neither two people nor a single person, but rather an experience, which is fitting considering how Stevonnie does some pretty casual things for a fusion, like don't get me wrong, they have managed to go toe to toe with Jasper and turned out alright, but for the most part Stevonnie is content with going into Beach City and having a good time. Though a somewhat tragic part of Stevonnie is that in Future Steven is clearly at his happiest when he's fused with Connie, so he brings up the notion of permafusing with her like Ruby and Sapphire, though Connie finds the idea somewhat unsettling since she wants to remain as her own person, so we sadly never see Stevonnie again after the roller-skating episode, which is a bad sign for Steven's diminishing mental health, but that's neither here nor there. I do hope that Connie does want to bring Stevonnie back out someday, even if it's only for short intervals at a time.
